Creative Journaling – out of context
ByYou have probably heard author Isabel Colgates quote, ”It is not a bad idea to get in the habit of writing down one’s thoughts. It saves one having to bother anyone else with them.” My friend laughed when she heard this. A bit cynical, my friend said this was a great idea. But the quote is taken just a bit out of context. Part of a conversation between a grandfather and his granddaughter in “The Shooting Party,” He keeps a black book with him at all times and the granddaughter is curious. She does not like writing. Her grandfather tells her, “That is because you are not good at it. Most people do not like doing what they are not good at.”
